Automation & Human-Centric Risk Management

Course
Enroll

Rainer Rodler, Claudio Sangaletti, Jose Seara and Kai Thomsen explore how automation and human-centric approaches can work in synergy for effective cyber risk management in manufacturing plants.

New technologies can provide advantages for manufacturers moving forward, potentially replacing existing tasks done by humans. However, if implemented incorrectly, these technologies may actually make our operations less secure.

This session will explore:

  • Is it possible for both automation and human-centric approaches to work in synergy? Should one be prioritized over the other when mitigating risk?
  • What does a good human-centered approach look like in the context of new innovations in manufacturing plants?
  • Where can the business case for automation and security be at odds with one another? How do we ensure they can work together?
  • What OT security challenges do OT owners/operators need to consider in the face of increasing automation and IT/OT convergence?
  • How can we ensure effective cyber risk management while working through these issues of today?
