Randy Guerette of Claroty addresses asset inventory using deep packet inspection, risk prioritization for exposed devices, exploited vulnerabilities and compensating controls for unmanaged medical devices.

Traditional vulnerability management tools create dangerous blind spots by focusing on CVSS scores while missing vulnerabilities actually exploited in ransomware attacks. Healthcare environments contain numerous unmanaged devices, including medical devices with end-of-life operating systems, that remain invisible to conventional security tools. Exposure management addresses this gap by identifying internet-connected devices and correlating them with known exploited vulnerabilities, enabling security teams to prioritize actual risks over theoretical vulnerabilities.

This session, led by Randy Guerette, solutions engineer at Claroty, will cover:

  • Asset inventory strategies using deep packet inspection for comprehensive device visibility;
  • Risk prioritization frameworks focusing on exposed devices with exploited vulnerabilities;
  • Real-world breach case studies and compensating control implementation for unmanaged devices.
