Daniel Maier de Carvalho explores the evolving OT threat landscape across Latin America, examining how cyber and physical risks converge and why cybersecurity must be treated as a strategic and national priority.

As critical infrastructure across Brazil and Latin America becomes increasingly digitized and interconnected, operators face a rapidly evolving threat landscape shaped by geopolitical tensions, economic pressures and emerging technologies.

This session examines how cyber and physical risks converge in OT environments, increasing exposure for energy, utilities, transport and data center operations. Drawing on regional perspectives, it explores why cybersecurity must be treated as a strategic and national priority, underpinned by governance, cooperation and geostrategic planning.

Led by Daniel Maier de Carvalho of Institutional Security Office of the Presidency of Brazil, this session will explore:

  • The evolving OT threat landscape across Brazil and Latin America;
  • Geopolitical and supply chain risks impacting critical infrastructure security;
  • Developing geostrategic OT defense strategies to enhance long-term resilience.
