A Data-Driven Approach to Modernizing OT Security

Course

Umang Barman of Zscaler explains how factories can modernize OT security through zero trust, segmentation, secure third-party access and cellular security.

Factories face growing pressure as attackers exploit exposed OT devices, compromised credentials, lateral movement and gaps in incident response. Artificial intelligence is lowering the barrier for reconnaissance, phishing and exploit development, making zero trust, asset inventory, third-party access control and segmentation more urgent across industrial environments.

This session, led by Umang Barman, director OT at Zscaler, will cover:

  • How threat groups exploit internet-exposed OT devices, edge vulnerabilities and ransomware paths that move from IT into OT;
  • How zero trust principles address asset inventory, identity access, supply chain risk and east-west lateral movement;
  • How microsegmentation, privileged remote access, cellular security and deception reduce blast radius and improve threat detection.
